Blu-ray and DVD packaging for The Future Programme a new release that is part of the Cult Classics collection from Studiocanal.
Taking inspiration from the psychedelic and visual motifs in the film, the existing poster was recoloured and repeated, to create some dynamism. This was used to create the new sleeve and on-body that was then adapted for physical and digital releases. As with all the Cult Classics, the Blu-ray version contains 4 double-sided Art Cards featuring the original poster and film stills.
Jon Finch heads an impressive cast as the flamboyant anti-hero in this dystopian, darkly humorous sci-fi thriller from cult director Robert Fuest. The Final Programme is based on Michael Moorcock’s acclaimed 1968 novel of the same name and has been newly restored.
The Future Programme is part of the Cult Classics branding project that I worked on with Studiocanal. Developing the identity to showcase the variety of titles in the range, the solution needed to work within the Studiocanal brand, alongside their existing collections, but also across a number of sleeves styles and colours. The type and elements of the sleeve layout are consistent from title to title, but flexible enough to allow the design of the individual title to show through.
The Cult Classics releases are a new collection of catalogue titles from Studiocanal to showcase their eclectic, boundary pushing rarities, genre classics, and forgotten cinematic treasures.
