A brand new restoration of the German hit musical Linie 1 includes socio-critical elements, but it also serves as an amusing portrait of Berlin’s society before the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Linie 1 is part of the Cult Classics branding project that I worked on with Studiocanal. Developing the identity to showcase the variety of titles in the range, the solution needed to work within the Studiocanal brand, alongside their existing collections, but also across a number of sleeves styles and colours. The type and elements of the sleeve layout are consistent from title to title, but flexible enough to allow the design of the individual title to show through.

The Cult Classics releases are a new collection of catalogue titles from Studiocanal to showcase their eclectic, boundary pushing rarities, genre classics, and forgotten cinematic treasures.
