DVD packaging for the 1958 version of Dunkirk from StudioCanal.
Not to be confused with the recent release from Christopher Nolan, this 1958 release was directed by Leslie Norman (The Long, The Short And The Tall), starring John Mills (Ice Cold In Alex, Goodbye Mr Chips, Great Expectations), Richard Attenborough (Brighton Rock, The Great Escape) and a cast featuring actual army officers. Dunkirk is one of the most authentic representations of conflict during World War II.
The packaging makes full use of the typeface Brother 1816 from Tipotype. Available in rough and smooth edged versions, it takes elements of geometric and humanist typefaces that suits a film and subject of this era.
